Livejournal and greatestjournal
LJ is down due to server migration. I didn't know it was going to happen! It seems like it will be back in 4 hours.
Also, Greatestjournal doesn't allow me to post. It says "updating of journals and communities currently disabled. " What happened?
PS: Is Insanejournal slow to everyone or is just me?

I imagine most of our flists will end up here during the interruption in service. Hopefully, the transfer will go without a hitch and we'll be back up by this evening.
Is good to know you're around, hopefully, many will come. Still, is very slow and the pages take ages to load or don't at all.
I just tried to open my F-List in GJ and noticed: nothing! I get the same link about updating, I didn't know that thinks got wonky there.
You should track my tag "LJ" by example, I've posted about it.
~ No wonder that IJ is slow when GJ is kaput and LJ down. *grumble*
And FYI:

ยป November 18th - 04:08pm GMT
The site is down now. Status says:
"LiveJournal is currently down due to migration to a new server facility. The window of planned downtime is from 8 a.m. to noon PST (4 p.m. to 10 p.m. GMT/UTC) on Tuesday, November 18, 2008."
I wonder who's right (but I fear the worst).
Because the status says now: 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. GMT/UTC *no clue*
And when LJ is back I expect it to be verrrrry slow at first :|
No wonder the IJ is slow
GJ is no more, it looks like it halted and you can't do anything there.
Just tried LJ, it works. I could even edit my entry (normal) and load my user pics (quick as normal). I feared worst. I'll wait a bit and go through LJ. It should stay now. *hopes*
Now when my emails get through I'm happy.
LJ said in the LJ news too that the IP adress will change. I still have the email:
New servers mean new IP addresses, so it's possible that LJ mail might not reach your email inbox because your email provider or client doesn't recognize the new IP addresses. We're working with email providers to whitelist the new IPs. There are a few things you can do on your end:
Add these two IP addresses to your "allowed senders" list (or whitelist) and address book in your email client: 208.93.0.18 and 208.93.0.50. These are the new IPs for sending comments notifications and LJ mail to your email inbox.
Add lj_notify@livejournal.com and webmaster@livejournal.com to your email address book.
If you can't edit the spam or junk filters in your email client, you may need to disable them entirely. Make these changes just before 8:00 a.m. PST on Tuesday morning or shortly after the site comes back up to ensure that your LJ mail makes it to your inbox.
LJ is slow though. But it was expected. :D
